Below you will find an explanation of the different areas of your Schoology account. This guide is intended to help you learn how to navigate Schoology's Parent App. For more in-depth guidance on specific Schoology features, check out the Help Center at support.schoology.com.

What Is Schoology?

Teachers use Schoology to post their classroom materials online; provide a safe forum for students to discuss their ideas and collaborate on projects; and to assign and collect homework electronically. It helps students stay organized and it keeps the class connected. A Schoology Parent Account gives you access to:

  • The classes your child is enrolled in.
  • Your child's upcoming assignments.
  • School and class announcements.
  • Daily grades. Final grades can still be found in Skyward.

Schoology makes it easy for you to stay involved in your child's education.

Are all teachers using Schoology?

Secondary teachers, in grades 6-12, have been using Schoology since the start of the 2019-20 school year.  Some are using it in all of their classes and some have been trying it out with one. We're still learning to use the tool and will continue to do so over the next several school years. Please contact your child's teacher to learn more about how they are using Schoology to support your child.  Starting Fall, 2020, secondary teachers will be asked to use Schoology for all of their classes; elementary teachers will follow in the 2021-22 school year. Schoology will replace other learning management systems and communication platforms being used by teachers and other groups throughout the District.
