Every student is entitled to an educational environment that is safe and free of discrimination regardless of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression: rights that are affirmed by state and federal law.  In order to provide all students with an equal opportunity to learn and achieve, the Anacortes School District is committed to inclusive practices and policies that uplift transgender and gender-expansive students with respect to key terms, communication, the use of names and pronouns, student records, confidential health and education information, restroom and locker room accessibility, sports and physical education, dress codes and other school activities.

The Trevor Project  Operates a nationwide crisis and suicide-prevention helpline for LGBTQ+ students.
