Summer learning turned out to be pretty fun for the kids attending our Impact program.

“These kids had a summer of consistent learning with incredible and enriching experiences,” Administrator Marcus Knowles said of this year’s Impact summer learning program.

Kindergarten through fifth grade students learned math, ELA, history, and science while engaging in hands-on activities taught by local specialists including Ranger Joy from Deception Pass State Park, Beck Pittman of Friends of the Forest and Denise Crowe from Samish Indian Nation. The goal was to offer engaging and rigorous activities to solidify critical learning from previous years and knowledge building for the upcoming year.

The program ended last week and was sponsored by Anacortes Schools Foundation and anonymous donors.
