Most ASD students will keep their current laptops over the summer, except AHS and CSHS students. All textbooks, library books, and other school materials will need to be returned.

Your principal will communicate your school’s specific plan, but some general information is below.

Elementary and Middle School:

Chromebooks/ Hotspots:

Chromebooks/hotspots will remain home with students over the summer.  They may be used for online enrichment activities through various websites that do not require a district login.  Parents and their students may refer to Anacortes Learns:  Enrichment, Anacortes Reads, or the Technology Handbook for ideas. Parents will be responsible for monitoring their students' internet use. If you do not want your child to use their district device, please turn it off and store it in a safe place to begin using it in the fall.

Textbooks/ Library Books:

Textbooks and library books will also need to be returned to your child’s school. Each building will send out their plan to families.

Departing elementary & middle School Families:

If you are not returning to the Anacortes School District in the fall, you can return your child’s Chromebook to the Tech Window (by the District Office -- 2200 M Avenue) at Anacortes Middle School on either June 22 or June 26 between 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

High School

Laptops:

All Cap Sante and Anacortes High School students will need to return their current laptop and swap it out for a new Chromebook. The high school will be sending out more specific details to families about the schedule, which will take place June 23, 24, and 25. Students will be able to use their new Chromebook over the summer for online learning and enrichment. Parents will be responsible for monitoring their students' internet use. If you do not want your child to use their district device, please turn it off and store it in a safe place to begin using it in the fall. Families not returning to ASD in the fall will not receive a new device.

Students unable to return their laptop on the designated day should contact Technology Services at (360) 503-1220 or disttech@asd103.org before Friday, June 26.  We will provide prepaid shipping labels to students who need them.  Laptops not returned by Monday, June 29 will be locked and reported stolen to the Anacortes Police Department.

Textbooks/ Library Books:

Textbooks and library books will also need to be returned to your child’s school. Each building will send out their plan to families.
