School Supplies

SCHOOL SUPPLIES - 2020-21 HYBRID MODEL 

Below are the supply lists for all students in Anacortes School District schools. Please note that individual teachers may ask for additional materials later in the year.

 

K-3 students will also receive an “at-home” packet that includes a whiteboard. These will be distributed later in September.

Kindergarten:

  • 3 or more small tip dry erase markers (expo brand preferred)
  • Eraser for whiteboard or sock
  • 24 count (at least) Crayola Crayon box
  • 6 #2 Pencils (Ticonderoga preferred)
  • Pencil sharpener (if you do not have already at home)
  • 1 package white construction/drawing paper 
  • 1 set small watercolor paints
  • 12 glue sticks
  • 1 pair small scissors (Fiskar brand preferred)
  • Pencil box for supply organization

1st Grade:

  • Sharpened pencils (Please make sure your child has as many as you think necessary for daily writing. All of our first grade writing will be done with pencil).
  • 1 pair of scissors (Fiskars brand preferred)
  • 5 glue sticks (or more)
  • Crayons
  • Watercolors
  • 3 Dry Erase black, fine-tip whiteboard markers (These are the thin markers. These are easier than the big markers for students to have correct pencil grip and to be able to practice writing neatly).

2nd Grade:

  • Dry erase markers - fine tip is easier to practice handwriting
  • Pencils and sharpener
  • Pencil erasers
  • Crayons, markers, colored pencils (if you don’t have already)
  • Glue sticks
  • 1 composition book
  • 1 folder
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • Suggested item - basket/bin to keep all remote learning supplies in one place

3rd Grade:

  • Thin dry-erase “Expo” pens
  • Whiteboard eraser (an old washcloth or sock is fine)
  • 12” Ruler in centimeters and inches
  • #2 pencils (12-24)
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Highlighters
  • Wide-ruled spiral notebooks (2)
  • Wide-ruled composition book (3)
  • Pink eraser and/or eraser caps
  • Post-it notes 
  • Colored pencils, twistable crayons, and/or markers (you can choose 1 or more)
  • Scissors
  • Gluesticks (2)
  • We suggest using a plastic bin (shoe box size) for students to store materials. We also encourage use of an upright book bin to store folders, spirals, and comp books.

4th Grade:

  • #2 pencils (12-24)
  • Pack of fine tip sharpies
  • Highlighters (2 colors)
  • Wide-ruled composition books (4) (Math, Reading, Writing, Science)
  • Pocket folders (2). No prongs. (1 ELA, 1 Math)
  • Pink eraser and/or eraser caps
  • Blank printer paper or drawing booklet
  • 500 sticky notes, 3x3 inch size
  • 12” Ruler in centimeters and inches
  • Pencil sharpener

5th Grade:

  • 3 composition notebooks (reading, writing, science)
  • 1 composition notebook with graph paper (math)
  • 2 pocket folders- no prongs (ELA, math)
  • Pencils
  • Big pink erasers
  • Pencil Sharpener
  • Colored pencils
  • Markers
  • 4 Glue sticks
  • 4 highlighters (different colors)
  • Scissors
  • 500 sticky notes, 3x3 inch
  • 24 pens in a mix of red, blue, and black ink
  • Plain drawing paper (can be printer paper)
  • Ruler with metric and standard measurements

Optional but encouraged items for at home learning:

  • Small whiteboard with dry erase markers
  • A basket/ bin/ large pencil box to organize supplies at home
