Elementary Math

• Elementary math teachers will meet throughout the year to align the district curriculum to state standards and develop a year long calendar of units of study.

• An elementary level district math team is working to help the district expand the capacity of Anacortes School District teachers to lead and support efforts to increase student mathematical competency and close the achievement gap in the area of math.
• Technology Infusion
  • Elementary Tech Mentors and TIAs will meet throughout the year to learn how to better infuse technology into the math curriculum.
  • Elementary Tech Mentors and TIAs will work at each school to share information and provide professional development.
  • All elementary classroom teachers received a digital camera to use in their classrooms.

Middle School Math

• Anacortes School District received a grant to implement the Connected Math Project for grades 6-9.
• Teachers will receive new materials to use in classrooms.
• Professional development needs are being identified.
• Technology Infusion
  • Secondary math teachers received a digital camera and an LCD projector to use in their classroom.

• The Math Forum* - Ask Dr. Math, Activities and help for Elementary through Graduate School
• Your Computer and Math*- How to use your computer to help you with math
• Create a Graph*- This website allows you to create many different types of graphs online and then print them out
• High School Math*- Math help for High School students
• Interactive Mathematics*- Great site from the National Library of Virtual Manipulatives. Allows you to move blocks, numbers, charts etc... to solve math problems. Activities for all grade levels
