While there are currently no confirmed cases of mumps in the Anacortes School District, there have been a couple documented cases in Skagit County. This is a good time to make sure your vaccinations are up to date.
The Skagit County Health Department has information regarding Mumps and how to protect your family. Mumps is a viral infection, characterized by swelling in the cheeks, neck and/or jaw, fever, headache, muscle aches, fatigue and loss of appetite. Mumps is spread through the saliva of an infected person and is highly contagious. More information can be found on our Health Services page.
