Ryan Pike has been named as Whitney principal and Cap Sante administrator for the 2018-19 school year. He will also serve as director of Teaching and Learning, overseeing the district’s Challenge Program.

Pike was selected after a competitive search that included soliciting feedback from Whitney families and staff. Pike currently serves as middle school principal for the Moses Lake School District. He previously taught kindergarten, third and fifth grades and served as elementary principal. He brings experience working with underserved populations with a focus on improving student engagement and a passion for alternative learning.

“I am very impressed with Ryan’s reflective approach to leadership, experience in K-12 education and passion for excellence,” said Superintendent Mark Wenzel. “He is data-driven, kid-focused, and supportive of staff. This is a unique role in our district, and I believe Ryan is well-suited for the job.”

Pike holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Western Washington University. He and his family will be relocating to Anacortes this summer.
