Captain Wendy Lawrence

NASA Astronaut Wendy Lawrence has spent 51 days, 3 hours and 56 minutes in space. She is the first female Naval Academy graduate to become an astronaut. She is one of only 11 astronauts who trained onboard the Russian space station Mir.

Join us on October 12 at 7 p.m. at Brodniak Hall for a special presentation and Q&A with Astronaut Lawrence. This visit is the featured program for Skagit Reads 2017, made possible by the Anacortes Public Library’s NASA@ My Library Initiative, which aims to bring more STEM programming to the community.  “Hidden Figures” is the fall book selection for Skagit Reads, and is available at all ASD libraries, courtesy of APL. For more info about Captain Lawrence, please visit www.astronautwendylawrence.com
